A Bequest for Success

A Bequest for Success

Bill Uhl '56 led the Flyers to a No. 2 national ranking, the highest our men's basketball team has ever reached - so far. Uhl wants the Flyers to continue their winning tradition and to reach even higher. That's why he created a bequest to support the future of the Flyers.

You can join Uhl in propelling our Flyers forward through a bequest in a number of creative ways that are the right choice for you, your family and your financial situation. These are gifts that will ensure that the tradition of the Flyers lives on well into the future.

"We chose to give through a bequest because of the longevity of it. We (Uhl and his wife, Cynthia) can continue to do good work," Uhl said about the decision to leave a planned gift to an endowed scholarship. "We want the special experience student-athletes have at the University of Dayton to continue year after year." A bequest can make that happen.

There are numerous ways to make your gift. You can make UD a beneficiary in your will, IRA or life insurance policy. You can make a gift of stocks or real estate. You can establish a future gift that pays you or a loved one an income for life. These are just several of the options, and the benefits can be just as diverse.

Two compelling and complementary benefits of a bequest are that they often don't need to cost you anything right now, and they can create a lasting legacy of providing UD student-athletes with a rich academic experience while competing at the national level.

In addition, your gift can be tailored to maximize tax benefits for you or your heirs, provide for a charitable deduction or even turn low-performing assets into investments with guaranteed returns. These are just a few of the numerous potential personal benefits.
